The City of Oskaloosa officially became the County Seat of Jefferson County, Kansas, in 1864. As County Seat, the City is home to the courthouse, law enforcement, ambulance and fire stations, post office, various restaurants, variety stores, gas stations and medical offices. MUNICIPAL QUICK NOTES: 
CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS are now being held at the new City Hall building at 509 Delaware Street (east side of courthouse square).
PET TAGS expired May 31st. Renew City pet tags at City Hall by June 30th to avoid penalty. Bring proof of rabies vaccination.
CITY HALL WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAY, JULY 5TH in observance of the Independence Day holiday. TRASH SERVICE WILL RUN ONE DAY LATE during this holiday week.
SEWER PROJECT:
KC Construction began the sewer improvement project on September 14, 2009. If you have any questions or concerns during this process, do not hesitate to contact City Hall. Thank you for your patience during this time of improving the infrastructure of the City.
